In first opening unknown author (to me) John Hamer's book, my hopes for an enlightening experience fell drastically when I flipped to the end of his work to find absolutely no references or index of any kind. In his opening gambit, Mr. Hamer tells us "This information may be unbelievable in many respects to some, but I do assure you that it is the absolute truth." He then encourages us to research for ourselves, which is truly a large task considering he only mentions sources in random and rare occurrences. With that said...The first section of this book is not about JFK at all but Mr. Hamer's Crown conspiracy. This read like a Larouche pamphlet on steroids. All the familiar old family names are present along with historical examples of their treachery, again all of it is outsourced save for a few random long quotes. Hamer then moves to a chapter making Joesph Kennedy out to be Hitler's twin. "Joe Kennedy however, was indeed the very personification of evil." Hamer then uses Ronald Kessler and Nellie Bly to take down JPK. This is shoddy work for any researcher as Kessler is far from an objective source. Considering that, we get the bootlegging garbage from Hamer as well.With that out of the way, and in the interest of the readers and my own time I will simply list some of the unbelievable absolute truths Mr. Hamer elucidates for us.-JFK was nice to the Soviet Union during the missile crisis because it served him politically-JFK was against the Bay of Pigs op until he learned that Yuri Gargarins space flight was a hoaxconsider these statements "It now appears very clear that Gagarin's fake space trip pushed Kennedy to deliberately sabotage the invasion by planning for it to fail. If Kennedy had allowed it to succeed, it would have diminished the value of the 'gift' that he had made to the Russians in turning a blind eye to their hoax."-In order to ensure the silence of the moon landing hoax, JFK appointed ex-Nazi Von Braun to head NASA's Apollo mission.*Apparently, Mr. Hamer is unaware that it was Eisenhower who appointed Von Braun, not Kennedy. He also never mentions NSAM 271 where JFK outlines his desire for a joint US-Soviet space program.-JFK was dismantling the Fed with Executive Order 11110 (this is false in case you are unaware)-Bill Greer shot JFK-The Z film has been altered-James Files is credible-Hoffa was involved-James Angleton is not mentioned in his list of suspects.There are many more evidentiary disgraces in this book, but I will leave it there. The premise (and my initial interest) of this book is that the British were involved in the JFK case. After about 60 difficult to read pages, I decided to try to cut to the chase and see if Hamer had anything relevant about his main thesis. He does not appear to. Instead he has a confusing conclusion that simply states he believes it was the British SOE and not Americans who instigated the plot. He then says "I can assure you that after my twenty years plus researching the overall 'grand conspiracy' as I refer to it, that not only is this type of operation reasonably frequent, but it is also often never made public at all."Even if that was true, Hamer's "assurances" are not worth much as no one can check his sources, instead we must find out for ourselves. Mr. Hamer, that is why we purchase books, to learn for ourselves from people who have done research that we can look at on our own if we choose to.The only reason I am giving two stars for this review is because I did not read the entire book and Hamer does occasionally happen upon some relevant facts and researchers like John Armstrong. I strongly advise everyone to avoid this. Heartbreaking book.
